14 LOOKOUT POINTS…
From where you can admire the landscape from dizzying heights!
From the La-Palud-sur-Verdon, the Route of the Ridges forms a 23km loop overlooking the legendary Verdon.
14 lookout points offer you an unobstructed view over this immense grand canyon and its mythical cliffs.
With a bit of luck, you will come across Griffon Vultures, flying high between the cliffs, or nesting in the limestone rocks, and more often than not, you will come across brave rock climbers who regularly climb these steep, plunging cliffs
Le Point Sublime
The unmissable view point over a wild landscape
Le Point Sublime is situated along the right bank of the Verdon Gorges, below the village of Rougon. It offers an unobstructed view of the entrance to the Verdon Gorges – the Couloir Samson – one of the most remarkable sites of the Verdon region.
A superb fortified castle overlooking the medieval village!
For lunch we will come back to Trigance to a wonderful fortified castle overlooking the medieval village protected by the exterior walls and houses made of stone.
Overlooking the valley of the Jabron and next door to the peaceful Comps sur Artuby village, Trigance is flanked at the foot of the Breis mountain. It is surrounded by high hills in the typical Provence Garrigues style, clearly setting the landscape in the Southern Verdon charm. A truly lovely village, full of narrow streets and hanging houses that beautifully mixes together the Provencal and Alpine ambiance.
Nestled at the heart of a wild and glorious nature
This tour would finish its course in Aiguines, right at the door of the Verdon Gorges, atop the superb Sainte Croix lake.
The village is idealy placed as a dominating view-point at the heart of a wild and glorious nature, displaying on all fronts some truly breathtaking landscapes between the lake and the Verdon canyon.
Connoisseurs of craftmanship and wood-work will be able to visit the wood-turning Musuem (open in July and August) and enjoy some shopping amongst the quaint boutiques and craft workshops in the village.
In Aiguines, photo enthusiasts will be enchanted by many of its old streets and traditionnal ancient houses that give it its aura.
